Now and Then

Hey,

How's it going? I'm just starting this blog now, this is my first post, and my goal is to put out a new song each week - for more on that check out the About section.

This week's tune is a pop song but it kinda doesn't have a chorus and you can hear that there are some things Brazilian about it. The song is about feeling anti-retro. I felt like that because I'm so often into old music, fashion, films, books, etc that I thought I should snap out of it and make something more my own. I think it can be good for the creative process to break out of things that were very influential...

(I know Bjork is not retro yet but I can't mention influential people without including her)

On this track I use all "real" instruments - no synths, drum-machines, that sort of thing. Some instruments were borrowed, I play: Zack Harman's drums, I use Richie Kohan's Lexicon delay and Glockenspiel, my lap steel guitar, my acoustic steel-string, my nashville and my bass guitar and I sing.
